There's a small - very small - chance that I will be moving to Pennsylvania in the near future.

Anyone know anything about Pennsylvania? I have no clue what it's like... I assume it's very different from Texas, however.

I finally got my new specs in today. They are the geekiest glasses that ever geeked, and they are fabulous.

Dour librarian pose FTW.

The prescription is so strong, the lenses make my eyes look about three times smaller than they really are. But I don't care. I'm totally rockin' this eighties nerd look.

I had totally forgotten this movie until about five minutes ago...

The Adventures of Mark Twain is one of those kids' shows that aren't really kids' shows. My mother would sit me in front of the television when she was busy and put this video on... I'm amazed she thought this was proper entertainment for a child my age (about 5 or 6), but I'm also kind of glad she let me watch it anyway.

I have now made it my only goal to track down and buy this movie on DVD. Which will be a neat trick, since I have no monies at the moment.

So after watching Star Trek three times within three weeks, I decided to take a break. I saw Up today. In 3D. YES I DID!! And it was awesome. I went in thinking the 3d would be all gimmicky and cheap looking, but it was actually used pretty effectively. Will I miss it when the dvd comes out and I can only afford the 2D edition? Nah, but it was nice to see it on the big screen. Doug, you're too cute, boy.

Spring is over in these parts, which kinda makes me sad because we had a good one this year. Everything was so colorful and lively, but now it's starting to look tanned and baked. The last week has seen high temperatures in the low nineties, and the rains have been slacking off, but to make it official I spotted (or more accurately heard) the first cicada of the season. I don't know if I ever got around to posting my finished cicada painting, but here it is, just for yuks.

Did only a couple of things today. Started and finished the web comic Rice Boy (all while listening to ambient music by the likes of Eluvium and Hammock, far out...) and finally, finally read the last few chapters of Oniisama, E.

Both of these had a lot of WTF? moments, though Oniisama, E has left me in a pretty pissy mood. I mean, crap, I need prozac after reading that shit.

And Rice Boy? I don't know what that guy is on, but I think I like it.

I'm just in the mood for one. Here's a fine mix taken from my favorites folder.

Once again, most of these paintings should no longer be under copyright. If they are, I'm just doing this for kicks, man, and no harm done or meant.
