I'm tired of winter already.

Dammit.

I made the mistake of looking up the weather in St. John, USVI. I shouldn't have done it.

It may take years, decades even. But I will go back there, some day...

Have I ever mentioned that I love science, even though I don't understand very much of it? Especially astronomy and cosmology. My mind is frequently blown by the stuff scientists find out there in the Big Black Yonder.

Today I found out about Galaxy Filaments, the largest known structures in the universe; which, when shown here in a 2D simulation, look remarkably to me like brain neurons.

We're living in God's brain, guys! I finally figured it all out!

Or maybe the cosmos just really likes having all it's crap arranged in patterns, who knows.

PS: This also has me thinking now of Jacob Boehme.

OMIGOD ITS SNOWING!!

Big fat snowflakes, too. Shame it won't stick (the temperature is around 40 F). Sure looks pretty though.

Reply to this meme by yelling 'WORDS!', and I will give you five words that remind me of you.

Then post them in your journal and explain what they mean to you.

Keep in mind that if I don't know you that well, your words might end up kind of odd or weird.

You'll only get five words if you do include 'WORDS!' in a reply to this post, meaning you can safely comment (should you wish to do so) without having to play.

Another day, another adventure.

So I branched out today and decided to try something even less mainstream than my yerba mate tea. I tried aloe juice. Yes, aloe juice, from the aloe vera plant. The kind I tried also had wheatgrass in it which supposedly has as much caffeine as a cup of coffee or sumthin.

I wanted to show you a picture of it (the brand name is ALO), but I ended up throwing it in the nearest garbage pail asap. So here's a pic I dredged up from the web:

See that muddled green color? That's not just an artsy bottle, that's the actual juice, with squishy bits floating in it. The liquid itself was slightly gelatinous. Yeah, pretty gross. I could tell that a ton of sugar had been added to make it palatable, but unfortunately it tasted exactly how you'd expect aloe to taste. The sugar only added that little extra bit of nausea inducing nastiness.

In happier news, I saw A Christmas Carol in 3D. It had some very good parts, and some not so good parts - I thought they handled The Ghost of Christmas Future very well, that is until Scrooge turned into a squeak toy (don't ask). Time will tell whether it becomes a classic, but the 3D experience made it worth the price of admission.
